I was on a plane yesterday flying to Florida. Behind me sat a father with his two small children. The boy seemed excited to be on the plane and kept looking out the window. He would tell everyone to “look how high we are” and “now were turning.” Being a former “white-knuckled” flier myself, I am sure that his announcements didn’t sit too well with some of the people on the plane who just wanted the ride over with and to be back on solid ground again.
But as he made his announcements, his sister just sat between him and her father and never said a word.
I started to fall asleep when I heard this little voice from behind me say “Dad, I’m scared.” Her father told her that there was nothing to be scared about.
She was quiet for another minute or two and then she said again “but Dad I’m scared.”
Then in this meek little voice, in which you could hear her anxiety, she both said and asked at the same time “Daddy? Hold my hand?”
How many times have we been in the same position as this little girl? It doesn’t have to be a plane ride that we are scared or worried about. We can be scared or worried about anything at any time; nonetheless, we all have times when we have that little voice inside of us that would like to say “Hold my hand.”
We may no longer have our parents to hold our hands when we are scared. We may now be the person that is asked to hold someone’s hand to comfort them. We may need to be strong for others.
No matter how strong we are in our effort to comfort others, there are times when the scared child lives inside of us.
In those times who do WE, the strong ones, turn to for our comfort?
We turn to God.
God’s own words tell us::
“For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13
God wants to hold our hand and comfort us. All we need to do is ask for His comfort and then take His hand.
When we got off the plane in Florida, I saw the little girl reach up and take her fathers hand again. This time not for comfort but, rather, as an unspoken “Thank you daddy. I love you.”
So, like that little girl, after you have taken God’s hand in comfort, take His hand once again to tell Him thank you and that you love Him.

It was a beautiful story. It is true we never out grow the need to ask our Father in Heaven to hold our hand. It is so reassuring to know we have a Father we can always depend on for everything. We only have to spend time with him, pray & then wait for him to whisper his answer or to hear him say I am here beside you. Thanks for the story I’m glad the little girl had someone to comfort her.

GOOD STORY, GREAT POINT. WE MUST HAVE THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE FAVOR IS. WE NEED TO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BE THANKFUL TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR AND TO EACH OTHER. PEACE MY FRIEND!!!!

Thank you for this. It brought tears to my eyes.
For me, it is a time of needing to be strong for others, but that strength is only there because my Father God “Daddy” holds my hand.
Some days I can only weep in His Arms; some days I sing to Him; always His Word comforts me and builds my faith.
I continually hear Him reminding me that what I see (the visible), is not what He sees. I love You so, Daddy God. I trust You. Please don’t stop holding my hand.

What a beautiful story. I wish all children could feel the comfort of a Daddy and of Our Lord and Savior. I don’t understand parents who can’t show love to their children. A simple gesture, holding their hand………May God’s peace be with those who have missed out as well as those who couldn’t give it, for He is the only One who can replace the love.

I needed that today!! That was absolutely inspiring………….

I think that this story is so very true of all of us today. There is a small, frightened child inside all of us, and we need to remember that Our Heavenly Father is only a prayer away, and his ears are always on, to listen to us we are happy or sad, down in the dumps or up in the clouds. He is the creator of all things, and the giver and sustainer of life; we need to remember that when all else fails, when friends, family and others fail us, GOD WILL NEVER FAIL US, AND WILL NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US! We just need to turn to him, not only in bad times, but in good times as well. It’s like what job said: ” Shall we not except good things from God, and not experience bad as well? The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, Blessed be the Name of the Lord”. We Need to always turn to our Heavenly Father when we are scared, just like that little girl did her daddy, and when Our “Daddy” God responds, we need to thank him for what he has and will do for us. Have a Blessed Day, and a Merry Christmas. After all, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

Thank you for sharing this with us. My husband died 8 months ago & my daughters are scared a lot of times about the unknown & the past. They have experienced things and understand situations that they should not have to being 6 & 9 years old, but we know that their Daddy is living his eternal life in Heaven waiting for us to be reunited. Sometimes I need to be reminded that they need to have their hand held without being asked, I must share that the times I have been scared I find comfort in their hugs!

I really needed to hear this. I am still crying. You see I lost my daddy 2 years ago which is still so hard I miss him and need him to talk to every day but worse than that I lost my 24 yr. old son 10 yrs. ago and when he passed away he left behind a baby girl that was only 22 months old at the time. She is now 11 yrs. old and it is so hard for her growing up and not having her daddy to hold her hand or hug her or comfort her. I really try extra hard to make up for her not having her daddy, but sometimes it is just not enough. On top of this I myself have recently gone through a divorce. I pray every day for my daddy (God) to give me strength to make it through all the losses in my life. Sometimes it is so very hard. Dear heavenly Father please give me the strength to go on, my days are filled with tears and heartache. Only you can hold my hand and pull me through one more time, in the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN!!

Thank you very much Elmer! I realize in life, everything happened for a reason. I had just finished spending hours on the internet reading about herniated disk, about all the pros and cons due to the fact that I was told by my neurosurgeon that I need a herniated disk surgery. I told him that I will pray about it since I really do not want to have the surgery. God has spoke to me severals time through your messages and this is one of the most believing messages that I can say truly, our God is an awsome God. I have the answer that I was waiting to hear from him. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you God!

It is an honor to be able to look around and see Jesus everywhere. I praise God for saving my wretched soul, for opening my eyes to see and my ears to hear. He truly is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. My prayer is that I get the previledge to witness for what my Savior has done for me. Sharing my story and seeing the reactions of people who think or thought they were/are so unworthy. Well, yes, we all are unowrthy, but by God’s grace and only by His grace and mercy we to can call Him Father, Abba. You can come too! Jesus said to come as you are. He came so we could live eternially.

I enjoyed the story! It is great to know that God is always there ready to grab our hand and comfort us when we’re scared or going through a hard time in our life. God’s word says, He will never leave us nor forsake us! Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Bro. Elmer This story just reminds us of just how close God is to us. If we meditate upon God as I have heard many times, that He is just a whisper away and if we make one step He is there. I am reminded of the song; Jesus Hold My Hand. We need to feel the touch of the Master’s Hand every moment of every day. We can’t find our way through this dark and dreary world without first taking hold of the Savior’ s Hand God Bless you through this Christmas Season,

I want to thank God for all his blessings. This story really hit home. Two years ago my husband was on life support for 6 weeks. The doctor kept asking me when are you going to disconnect? I told me “I am going to leave it up to God and he will determine what’s going to happen to my husband.” I told him I am going to pray to God that he touches your heart so you won’t ask loved ones to disconnect. I also told him he is doctors of all doctors and he will heal him. I turned around and whispered at my husband “honey you need to hold on to his hand because he is the only one that will lift you up. When my husband woke up from his coma the doctor came and hugged me and asked ” Do you want to see your husband?”To make a long story short my husband is at home after a year at a nursing home getting therapy and he is driving around. Praise God!!!! Thank you Jesus for holding my husband’s hand. (true story)

Oh how that story brings back so many memories. I lost my Daddy at the age of six, two days after my bithday. I still to this day ask him to hold my my hand, hug me, whenever I feel lonely, sad or in need of him. I know is is always beside me. I kown the Lord thy God is with me at all time also, but every once in a while I still need my Daddy. I know they are walking side by side, and are here for me. The lord will carry me through until I am with the again. I love you my Lord and I love you my earthly Daddy. Till we meet again….

Recently I went through chemotherapy and in the beginning esp. I asked my parents to hold my hands as experienced a frightening time. It gave me comfort to know we can ask. Knowing your parents would not turn you down. Imagine how Our Lord would feel if we asked him for help.
We are never along in our struggles. God is always a prayer away. God Bless.
