One of the wonderful things about The Whisper of God community is the fact that we can share with each other our relationship with God.
The Whisper of God FaceBook community is a very active community (the FaceBook page can be found here). It is heartwarming to see questions being posed by some and answered by others. It is awesome to be part of a group of like minded people asking for prayers and praying for and supporting each other. We learn and grow through each others experiences.
Part of the way we support each other is through an open discussion of God, how God has come into our lives, and how He continues to have an impact on our lives.
I have found that there are three basic groups of people that come to and become part of The Whisper of God community:
- Those who already having a strong relationship with God,
- Those who have a relationship with God but want to learn how to make it stronger and become closer to God, and
- Those who would like to have a relationship with God and have come here to learn how to develop and have such a relationship.
For our newest members: we are a very open, accepting, and friendly group of individuals and we encourage and appreciate everyone’s participation. As much as we would like everyone to participate in our discussions, you are free to just read through the discussions and be part of the community in that way. However, when the urge to write hits you, feel free to jump right in!
There are those who may be shy, may not feel they can contribute, or may feel that what they have to say is not “right”. There are no questions that are too silly to ask and there are no right or wrong answers to questions that are asked.
There are people who have grown up going to church or have had religious education most of their lives but they still don’t feel close to God. I have had people in this situation ask me “How do I start to have a relationship with God?”
Those of us that have a relationship with God had to start somewhere ourselves. Some of us have had a relationship with God for quite a while; some of us have just started to develop our relationship with God.
Our community, “The Whisper of God”, is meant to bring together those who do have a relationship with God and those who would like to have a relationship with God and discuss how to have such a relationship, how fulfilling such a relationship can be, and how God has affected their lives.
What those of us who have a relationship with God have found is that having such a relationship can lead to a much more fulfilling life. We have found strength through prayer and our faith in God
Over the next week or so we are going to explore and talk about how to develop and strengthen our relationship with God.
As we go through this exploration, I hope that those of you who want to develop a better relationship with God will ask questions if you have them and, for those of us who have a strong relationship with God, if there is anything you can share, please feel free to do so.
While there is no set way to develop our relationship with God there are several key areas that we will talk about in order to develop and strengthen our relationship with God: we must learn to speak to God, we must learn to hear God speak to us, and we must learn to become familiar with the Bible which is the recorded word of God.
Hopefully, at the end of our exploration, we will open the lines of communication with God and be able to hear The Whisper of God.

Hi, I am part of facebook, and am happy that you are too.. I have known the Lord for many years.. I was saved at 12, but in my late teens I strayed from Him…I still depened on Him through the years, but mainly in times of trouble when I would call on His name, and ask him to help me or a family member. I have been back with Him now for about 4 years, and I can’t seem to find that relationship I had back when I was a teen.. I want it to be like it was then but even stronger.. I pray that being here in the community, I will learn from many of you how to grow closer to my Lord and to listen for His voice, and to find a peace in myself with Him that I so desperately need.. Health issues, keeping myself locked up in my house due to past panic attacks, and problems with adult children and their kids have just about wore me down.. but now, that I have found this site, I can’t wait to learn from you and grow in the Lord. I never want to let Him go like I did before.. Tyvm Marilyn
