Releasing Anger

Thought for the Day
“There are times we get so angry that we feel like we could just burst. Anger is a normal human emotion. However, holding onto anger is unhealthy and responding too quickly, in most cases, unwise. When your temperature goes up and you feel like you might boil over, take a moment and ask God to step in and give you His guidance.”

Today’s Word
“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” (James 1:19-20, NIV)

Today’s Prayer
Father, you know that there are times when my emotions turn to anger. Sometimes the anger runs so deep that I might lash out, only to be regretful of things said later. Please guide my reactions and words so that I may respond in a way that will allow my feelings to be known yet not in a way that will cause more hurt to everyone. Amen.
